Company Bio

The Lee Family has been involved in the transportation industry since 1957. Curtis F. (Frankie) Lee, the former president and founder of Lee Truck Broker, Inc. began his career in trucking with his brother, R.K. Lee. Together, they started a company by the name Mobile Home Mover’s Inc., moving new and used mobile homes around the Lake Charles, Louisiana area. At one time, they had as many as 13 day cab trucks working feverishly to handle the demand of the local manufactured home dealers. In the early 1970’s the company was sold to Transit Homes, Inc. of Anderson, SC to which it still belongs to and operates for today.

In the fall of 1974, Frankie bought a 1974 Kenworth and a Wilson hopper bottom trailer and began hauling grain for local farmers in and around Dermott, Arkansas. By the end of the harvest the first year, he had purchased an additional two trucks and trailers, and with demand continuing to grow, he couldn’t keep up. He began to hire other truck owners to help, charging them a fee for supplying the load, and by the end of 1976 business had grown to a volume beyond what Frankie’s financial abilities could support. He joined Harold Ives and Terminal Truck Brokers, Inc. of Stuttgart, AR the first working day of 1977 to support his growing accounts receivables and in the fall of the same year, his son Randy joined him behind a desk.

In early 1984, Frankie and Randy, having saved enough to support their receivables, started Lee Truck Broker, Inc. as an Arkansas Corporation with Frankie as President and Randy as Vice President. With only one additional employee they struck out on their own in hopes of achieving independence and a corner in the industry they had chosen.

In the beginning, Lee Truck Broker moved only exempt commodities by truck, and still today you’ll find a frame on the wall of our office containing the Bill of Lading to the very first load we ever brokered. Over the years, we’ve owned and operated as many as 150 company trucks and have had offices on every side of the United States. Today, our company moves freight of any kind by whatever legal means necessary in order to facilitate successful supply chain solutions. We endeavor to please our customers and move freight in a timely and competent manner, and it can often be heard among the conversation of our drivers; “If you haul for them, you WILL get paid!”

C.F. (Frankie) Lee retired as the president in January of 2008, but remains on as a consultant. Since his retirement he has authored a book titled “MY SHEPHERD,” a study of the 23rd Psalm. The book is available in over 25,000 bookstores worldwide..
